Team Palisades Video—Understanding Zone Zero

Team Palisades held an online meeting recently to help residents better understand Zone Zero, the regulations of the 5-foot space surrounding structures in areas particularly at risk of wildfires, which were recently passed by the California Board of Forestry & Fire Protection.

The panel of experts included Bill Tyler of Fire Safe Marin, landscape designer April Owens, Laura Blaul of the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety, Capt. Dwayne Laurent of the LA Fire Department, and Capt. Warren Sutton of LAFD.

The topics of the video include the science, regulations, and practical steps to harden properties against wildfire risks. In addition, local enforcement issues will be addressed, such as how Los Angelesl will implement, inspect, and enforce these evolving standards in our neighborhoods.
