Pali Community Council to Hold August Election
The next Pacific Palisades Community Council election for both at-large and area representatives will happen in late August, and candidates must apply by July 23.
Incumbent candidates are running both for at-large seats and in areas three through eight. Sharon Kilbride currently represents Area 7, which includes Rustic and Santa Monica Canyons on the council. Areas one and two do not have incumbent candidates.
Residents vote for area representatives, while residents, property owners, and business owners vote for at-large representation. The new representatives will begin serving on Oct. 1.
Anyone interested in in being a candidate can apply by submitting a statement by 5 p.m. on July 23. The candidates will be announced at the same day’s council meeting, which begins at 6 p.m.
Candidates must be 18 on the day voting begins in August, and area representatives must live in the area that they would like to represent. Fire survivors who are living temporarily elsewhere are eligible, if they plan to return to Pacific Palisades.
