A second community meeting about the Potrero Canyon Pedestrian/Bicycle Bridge Project will be held online on July 16 from 5:30-7 p.m.
The project’s goal is to extend a bridge across the Pacific Coast Highway between Will Rogers Beach and George Wolfberg Park.
“This project is a key part of the City’s broader initiative to support the connectivity and accessibility of recreational areas and enhance the quality of life for local residents and visitors through active transportation modes,” according to a government webpage. “The project will also be designed to emphasize environmental stewardship and the beautification of the landscape, aligning with the City’s goals of sustainable and responsible development.”
State funding of $11 million for the project was secured in 2021, and the environmental planning and design phase began in late 2023, according to the city website. Construction is anticipated to occur between 2029-2032. A fact sheet about the project is here.
