With warmer weather and more activity on the beaches, the L.A. Police Department has added two officers to the local beach detail in preparation for the busy summer season.
Officers Enrique Diaz-Noriega and Sergio Santana join fellow officers Adam Margin and Shawn Zhang on the assignment, which patrols Will Rogers State Beach from Entrada to Coastline Dr., including the adjacent hillsides, according to Sharon Kilbride, the Canyon’s representative to the Pacific Palisades Community Council. The extra officers will be working until the fall both to address problems that arise and also stay connected to the Pacific Palisades Task Force on Homelessness, which has outreach workers from The People Concern in the area.
“The beach detail … monitors the safety of our hillsides to make sure we are free of encampments,” Kilbride said. “They were established in 2016 when the Homeless Task Force was created and have been an unbelievable asset to our community.”
