Heal the Bay to Host June 20 Beach Cleanup
The Nothin’ But Sand Beach Cleanup will be June 20 at 10 a.m. at Ginger Rogers Beach, Tower 18.
Heal the Bay’s free two-hour event is designed to remove hundreds of pounds of debris from the beach. Volunteers can register at this link, and cleaning supplies will be provided. Even if registration is full, volunteers are encouraged to drop by, although they will need to bring their own supplies. Rolling check-in will be available until 11 a.m.
An Expo Hub will have exhibits, promotions, and information on how to get more involved. A Heal the Bay flag and blue tents will mark the check-in area.
Heal the Bay offers the following recommendations for the cleanup:
Be prepared to be outside for 2 hours. Weather can be unpredictable, so dress in layers. Drinking water is available at all cleanups.
To make Nothin’ But Sand a zero-waste event, bring your own buckets, gardening gloves, and a reusable mask and water bottle.
These events are rain or shine, but all registered attendees will be notified of any cancellation.
Heal the Bay encourages all volunteers to carpool, bike, walk, or allow extra time to find parking.
