Holiday Magic at Rustic Canyon Rec Center & Other Festive Events
Stories, crafts, and train rides will be part of the Holiday Magic celebration at Rustic Canyon Recreation Center on Dec. 10 from 6-8 p.m.
Train rides will begin at 7 p.m. as a “gentle flurry of snow foam drifts through the air,” according to the park announcement.
Other nearby holiday events include:
The Lowe Family YMCA Christmas Tree Lot will open in Simon Meadow (1551 W. Sunset Blvd.) from Nov. 28-Dec. 19.
Theatricum Botanicum will hold its Holiday Family Faire on Dec. 13 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event will have an artisan holiday marketplace, caroling, special performances, festive food and drink, photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and holiday stories from varied traditions. Tickets ($20 for adults, $10 for children from ages 5-15, $50 for a family of two adults and two children) are available here. Children 4 and under are free.
Theatricum Botanicum will also present It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play by Joe Landry at 5 p.m. on the main stage for a $25 add-on ticket. The staged reading is performed in the tradition of a 1940s live radio broadcast, complete with Foley sound effects created live on stage and performances by Theatricum's company and special guests.
