Free Catalytic Converter Etching Offered by LAX Police on Sept. 19

If your car has a catalytic converter, etching the vehicle identification number on it can make the converter both easier to trace and less attractive to thieves, according to police.

On Sept. 19 from 8 a.m.-12 p.m., residents can have the etching done for free by the L.A. International Airport police at 7320 World Way West. No reservations are required.
