Three Events Mark Jan. 7 Palisades Fire Anniversary

Three local events will mark the anniversary of the Palisades Fire on Wednesday, Jan. 7.

In Canyon Square, musician Tim Hayn, who saved numerous Canyon houses with his brother, Sean, will hold a concert from 5-6:30 p.m. During the show, he will debut a song that he wrote about the fire called “Home,” which will also be released on all streaming platforms at 10:30 a.m. (See full story here.)

In the Palisades Village, the Pali LTRG and Palisades American Legion Post 283 will host a solemn morning of observance beginning at 8 a.m. that includes both a 9 a.m. private white glove presentation for the families of those lost in the fire, and a 10:20 a.m. public procession to the Village Green with a Ringing of the Bells to honor the people who were lost. A community lunch will follow from 11:15 a.m.- 1 p.m. More information is available here.

At the Self Realization Fellowship, a Day of Remembrance and Renewal will be held from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. at 17080 Sunset Blvd. Moments of silence will be offered each hour, while memories can be shared at the gazebo. More information is available here.
