Evacuation Shelter Open, Topanga Canyon Blvd. Closed

The Red Cross opened a shelter at Stoner Park Recreation Center last night due to atmospheric river conditions.

 The center is at 1835 Stoner Ave. and has a capacity of 61 people, according to City Councilmember Traci Park’s office. In addition, warming centers, motel vouchers, transportation, and meals are available through LAHSA'S Emergency Response Program through November 18. For assistance, call 2-1-1 and talk to an operator.

Topanga Canyon Boulevard is closed until conditions improve, and Park requested that residents avoid PCH and canyon roads until the storm is over.
