L.A. County Launches New Soil Testing Program for Lead
The L.A. County Department of Public Health has been allocated $3 million for a new soil testing program for areas both within and downwind of the Palisades and Eaton Fire burn scars.
Instructions to gather and submit samples are available here. Participants need gloves, one-gallon Ziploc bags, and a sharpie to collect and label their samples, according to the website. Soil sample submission forms can be printed from the website, and test results will be emailed from a certified laboratory within 7-10 days.
