LAPD Seeks Volunteers for Community Patrol
The Pacific Division Volunteer Community Patrol is seeking volunteers who would like to aid LAPD by providing a highly visible patrol presence throughout the division.
VCP members patrol in marked, non-emergency city vehicles assist with non-hazardous duties that don’t require an officer. The goal is to deter crime, provide an additional way to report incidents, and add another connection between the police and the community.
Volunteers pass a background screening and complete training in vehicle operations, such as slow-speed driving and backing, and learn about radio procedures, penal codes, duties, and responsibilities.
Anyone interested in participating can contact Sergeant II Brian Cook at (310) 482-6397 or email 36258@lapd.online.
