December Festivities: Tree & Menorah Lighting, Festive Soiree, Holiday Ho-Ho-Ho & More

A parade of local events will celebrate the holiday season this month, so come out and join your neighbors for some festive fun.

Dec. 6:

Palisades Village Tree Lighting: On Saturday from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. on Monument Street, family-friendly activities, music, and refreshments will bring holiday cheer. At 5:30 p.m., Santa Claus will light the Christmas Tree and usher in a magical snowfall. Address: 15225 Palisades Village Lane.

Palisades Holiday Soiree
At 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, the American Legion Post 283 and the Palisades Bocce Club will host a party with a catered dinner, wine, music, musical chairs, and a sensational show. To buy a ticket ($95/person), visit this link. Address: 1527 La Cruz Dr.

Holiday Glass Sale
From noon to 4 p.m., glass jewelry, ornaments and gifts will be available at the YMCA’s Simon Meadow. The YMCA’s Christmas Tree lot will also be open from now until Dec. 19 from 3 to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and noon to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Address: 1551 W. Sunset Blvd.

Dec. 10:

Holiday Magic at Rustic Canyon Recreation Center
Stories, crafts, and train rides will be part of the celebration from 6-8 p.m. Train rides will begin at 7 p.m. as a gentle flurry of snow foam drifts through the air. Address: 601 Latimer Rd.

Palisades Christmas Festival
In the Calvary Church Courtyard from 5-9 p.m., visitors can enjoy food, games, crafts, music, story time and more. Address: 701 Palisades Dr.

Dec. 13:

Lowe Family YMCA Holiday Ho-Ho-Ho!
From 1-4 p.m. in Simon Meadow, the annual Holiday Ho-Ho-Ho will welcome Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, and Santa’s Elf. Residents can share their Christmas wishes and enjoy fun activities. Address: 1551 W. Sunset Blvd.

Theatricum Botanicum’s Holiday Family Faire
From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the faire will include an artisan holiday marketplace, caroling, special performances, festive food and drink, photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and holiday stories from varied traditions. Tickets will be $20 for adults, $10 for children from ages 5-15, $50 for a family of two adults and two children. Purchase here. Children 4 and under are free. It’s a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play by Joe Landry will be at 5 p.m. on the main stage for a $25 add-on ticket. The staged reading is performed in the tradition of a 1940s live radio broadcast, complete with Foley sound effects created live on stage and performances by Theatricum's company and special guests. Dec. 14:

Hanukkah Menorah Lighting
At 4 p.m. in the Palisades Village, the traditional community Menorah Lighting will be hosted by Palisades Chabad & Palisades Village. The event features the lighting of the Collaborative Arts Menorah, followed by music, crafts, treats and more.

Dec. 20:

Holiday Cookie Pop Up!
From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., The Cookie Studio LA in the CAnyon will offer coffee and a cookie (while they last) to visitors as they shop for a selection of holiday-themed cookies, DIY Kits, and mini Gift Packs. Address: 436 Entrada Dr.
