Great Blue Heron Oversees Lower Canyon

Boca resident Sharon Kilbride noticed a great blue heron in her neighborhood this weekend.

“The bird was in my yard yesterday and this morning is seated on top of my neighbor’s house on Channel Lane looking for prey,” Kilbride said.

The majestic bird returns to the Canyon every year at this time. Kilbride said that people with fish ponds should beware as “they’re notorious for grabbing people’s koi fish.”
