Councilmember Traci Park’s office provided details about the proposed cleanup of the slew of concrete slabs that were washed into Santa Monica Canyon Channel on Monday.

California State Parks and the Mountains Recreation & Conservation Authority have been working to reopen trails throughout Pacific Palisades, but structural issues, including destroyed bridges and mudslides on certain trails, are slowing repairs.

The recent rain knocked a tree across Chautauqua, covered swaths of the bike path in sand, and dislodged hundreds of chunks of concrete overlay from the flood channel.
