In less than a month, Palisadians, their friends, and family will gather at Paul Revere Middle School to celebrate the Fourth of July.
Instead of the traditional Palisades Village parade, Palisadians can enjoy an evening of music, entertainment, kids’ activities, more than 20 food trucks, and the “best drone show around,” according to PAPA, the Palisades Americanism Parade Association, which organizes the event each year. The event will be restricted to residents, their friends, and family, so advanced registration to prove residency is required with details of how to verify residency and obtain free tickets to be released next week.
PAPA’s website, Palisades4th.com, offers the most current details about Fourth of July festivities, which will also include the traditional morning Palisades Will Rogers 5K Run. The run, including the half-mile Kids Fun Run and the Dick Lemen Run (High School 5K Competition), will be held in Venice this year with the first race beginning at 7 a.m. Registration is open at this link.
In addition, PAPA is working with Santa Monica’s July 4th Parade organization to include Palisadians in their event, and information about how Palisadians might be included will be forthcoming.
According to PAPA’s website, “some of our favorite July 4th Parade participants will join us for the [Paul Revere} celebration, and we’ll make sure to keep that Palisades hometown feel that’s unique to our community. We’ll have time to see our neighbors and friends, check-in with each other, reminisce, and make plans to see each other again. Most importantly, we’ll celebrate raising up Pacific Palisades and returning stronger than ever. Our celebration will be open only to Palisadians, their friends and family, and require that you register in advance (starting in June) to obtain complimentary tickets.”
Gates will open at 5 p.m.
