Dolphins Frolic at Will Rogers Beach

Since the Jan. 7 Palisades Fire, Boca resident Sharon Kilbride hadn’t seen dolphins playing in the ocean on her daily 5-mile bike rides along the beach.

Dead dolphins had washed ashore from the deadly spring algae bloom, but even after the bloom ended around the end of May, her regular views of playing dolphins hadn’t recurred.

“I had thought, ‘Oh God, they’re never going to come back,’” Kilbride said. “But today, I swear there were 40 of them at Will Rogers Beach…. Maybe it was because of that earthquake in Russia. Maybe the waves. It was incredible.”
