A Pali Renewal Celebration Will Be Held Mar. 22 at PaliHi

A free gathering with food, music, and a lantern ceremony will be held at PaliHi on Sunday from 3 p.m. until sunset.

More than 30 local organizations, including The Canyon Alliance and the Pacific Palisades Community Council, support the event, which will feature two stages and varied music and performances, including Luke Tyler Shelton, Andrew Cole, Pali Beats, Fancy Feet, Gerry Blanck, Palisades Studio, and special guests.

Art and activities will include: face painting, glitter tattoos, tree of life, wish tree, lasso roping, a kids’ zone, photo & video booths, children's crafts, and native seed balls. Food trucks will offer Bittiebitez, CHX Sandwiches, Sunset Smash, Cousins Maine Lobster, Green Truck, Gracias Señor Taqueria, Afters Ice Cream, and Travelin’ Toms Coffee.

The 6:30 p.m. lantern ceremony will begin with a performance by Jimmy Dunne followed by a time of “a reflection on the meaning of the Year of the Fire Horse and its symbolism of courage, transformation, and renewal for wildfire survivors,” according to the event website. “Neighborhoods will be called one by one to illuminate their lanterns (outfitted with small battery-operated lights and a decorated Year of the Fire Horse ornament) until 400 lanterns glow — a powerful reminder that our community stands together in recovery. We will close with a brief prayer and moment of silence, followed by uplifting music to send us forward in hope and unity.”
