P.P. Community Council Meets Sept. 11 to Hear About Library and Other Infrastructure Projects

The Pacific Palisades Community Council will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at this Zoom link.

At the meeting, L.A.’s Bureau of Engineering (BOE) will present information on the status of current and future infrastructure projects in the Palisades. The Friends of the Palisades Library will also provide an update on the library from the current and past presidents of the Palisades Library Association, Cameron Pfizenmaier and Laura Schneider.

Schneider posted a letter on the library association’s website that announced the creation of a Palisades Library Book Bungalow that is on schedule to open this fall in “a welcoming space located near the entry to the park” at 851 Alma Real.

“It will include a small browsing collection, holds pickup, Wi-Fi, community meeting space, and … a home for the Friends of the Library,” Schneider said in her letter. “It’s a meaningful first step toward restoring library services in the Palisades.”

In addition, Schneider mentioned that FEMA had conditionally approved funds to support the rebuilding of the library. The next phase will include selecting an architect, developing a timeline, and creating a plan for eliciting community input.

The PPCC meeting agenda is available here. For additional information, visit www.pacpalicc.org or e-mail info@pacpalicc.org.
