Bike Path Update: Repairs Delayed & Sand Sweep Needed

Repairs to the flood-damaged bridge on Will Rogers State Beach near the mouth of the Canyon have been delayed until at least Aug. 1, according to L.A. County Supervisor' Lindsey Horvath’s office.

The delays stemmed from both the Coastal Commission process and further erosion, according to Zachary Gaidzik, Horvath’s coastal and Westside field deputy. The current estimated completion date is November 2025.

Bridge repairs were originally scheduled to begin in April and finish in July.

A separate safety issue was caused by sand that lay across portions of the bike path on Monday. Gaidzik was alerted to the issue by Boca resident Sharon Kilbride, so that clean up could be arranged.
